Cold Forged
When most people think of forging they think of heat and flames melting metal. But what about cold forging? This lesser common construction method uses no heat whatsoever, hence "cold". Often referred to as wire wrapping, cold forging binds metal through weaving and shaping the material by hand. Each item is held together by weaving and wrapping wire around each other to form a solid, sturdy and intricate finished piece of jewelry. It takes many hours to create each item, typically 10-15 hours of metal work goes into each one. I use varying sizes of wire all the way down to 28 and 30 gauge which is essentially metal thread. Each piece ends up with a many feet of metal woven together, anywhere from 15-25 feet depending on the size of the creation.

Hand Drawn Designs
I draw every design unique to the gemstone that will be the centerpiece. Every cold forged creation starts here, on a page in my sketchbook

One of a Kind
Every single item is one of a kind, no two creations are ever the same. Every design is original to my personal artwork. Each one starts with a sketch and a gemstone, from there they become a wearable piece of art as unique as you.

Meet the Artist
My name is Krista and I am the wild eyed alchemist who is the one woman show that runs every department. Designer, creator, photographer, customer service, shipping and everything in between. I started practicing the techneques of cold forging as a way to turn my love for crystals into wearable jewelry. My inspiration comes from all things magical, whimsical and elegant. My appreciaton for Art Nouveau, Sci-fi Fantasy (LOTR at the top of the list of course), Folk Lore, Tarot, and Nature can all be seen in my artistic expression.
