This one of a kind amulet features a lovely hand cut Dendritic Opal gemstone paired with a stunning green Peridot. These gems are set by hand using wire wrap techniques in USA made 925 sterling silver with copper accents. I make all my pendants from scratch, each one takes many hours to create and each is a labor of love.
Dendritic Opal is a lovely variety of common Opal (Opal that doesn’t have iridescence) that features dendritic inclusions. These inclusions can be found in a variety of silica based minerals including quartz and agates. It is known for having a moss or tree like appearance in color and pattern. Opals that feature these dendritic inclusions are often called Moss Opal after the mossy look of the stone. Another name this gemstone often gets is Merlinite after the famous wizard Merlin due to the gemstone’s association to magic. These beautiful stones are associated to the Crown Chakra and are said to increase emotional strength and connect the mind with one’s higher self. It is a gemstone known for balance and enhancing powers, particularly in spell work or that not of the mundane. This particular Dendritic Opal is an ethically sourced stone that was hand cut here in my home of Lake Tahoe by the talented @mountaingoatgeo (find her on Instagram!).
Paired with it is Peridot which is a gem that has been loved in many cultures for centuries. In ancient Egypt it is said that Cleopatra prized Peridot for its vibrant green color an that it would keep away dark evil spirits. Peridot is known for being a stone of compassion while calming anger and bringing harmony and restful sleep.
This pendant measures 3.15 inches tall (8cm) and .9 inches at its widest point (2.3cm). It comes on 26 inch adjustable dark grey cotton cord that is made using recycled material from the fashion industry.
